This includes adults above and below the sixty-five year old age. Younger and older adults are both accommodated.
Funding
This is based on an individualised assessment and is at reasonable rates.
The Younger Adult Group
Younger adults enjoy the top floor facilities for eight residents, which includes the supervised kitchen and dining facility. The enjoyment of cooking and shared activity on this level ensures a good platform for the practicing of rehabilitation skills.
Café Business Enterprise
Amongst our residents are individuals that have either been involved in business or in professional roles, and there is always that ambition which needs direction. There is ongoing discussion of a café development which would become a resident fund raising initiative with all residents involved, maintaining their own bank account, meeting's etc.
Resident Forum
Ongoing meetings are held by residents which provide lots of ideas for development. The staff role is to be encouraging and supportive of initiatives.

The Older Adults (over sixty-fives) Group
The two lower levels of the building are dedicated for the care of those residents over sixty-five years of age. As we all know classifications by age is not always ideal. There are many cases of sprightly elderly folk and sometimes folks younger in years may not be active at all. The Home accommodates over sixty-five year olds and often these individuals come to us from long-term care in psychiatric hospitals.
Our home delights in offering opportunity and life experience in a family home for such individuals.
Elderly residents can enjoy doing cooking in the afternoons and outdoor excursions. There are facilities for the elderly e.g. baths with hoist, stair lift and shaft lift and ground-floor rooms for limited mobility. Our Home has an active interest in the care of the elderly resident s . Our philosophy is that our Home should provide ongoing care for our residents as they grow older and for as long as we can meet their needs.
Both age categories can enjoy shared facilities and activities. The Home's history is one of a familiar and mostly happy family of residents that integrate well regardless of age. There is free movement within the Home, which works well.
